Rampage in First

The Rampage are in first place of their divison. It has been a long time since we have been in first. It is a nice thing to say. We play Quad City today, which should be a good game.

Josh Tordjman has also been named player of the month by the league which is a great thing for him. He will receive an award at a up coming home game.

New things

We have a new coach and a new contract with the Phoenix Coyotes. This should be a better season than what has gone in the past. I am really looking forward to the season. I will try to keep this updated as much as I can.

Alex Leavitt

We got Alex Leavitt from the Houston Aeros on a loan. He has 7 pts in 3 games so far. Hope he keeps up the good work.
He is also the AHL player of the week for the week of Feb. 26- Mar. 4. Congrats to him on that.

3 games on the road

The Rampage did well on the road. They went 2-1 in three nights in three different cities. Josh Tordjman played all three games. We play Peoria on Friday. Should be a good game to see.

Past 19 games

The Rampage went 8-11 during that period. They have also beat last season's record which is awesome to say the least. The guys go back on the road Saturday and Play Iowa. Then on Sunday they Chicago for the last time and they finish off with Milwaukee for the last time of the season. They will be home for 9 more games before they have to go on the road again.

They lost to Iowa Tuesday, 4-1. The game was really boring, it seemed like the guys were missing something. Which they are, two players that got called up recently. Yanick Lehoux and Jeff Taffe.

Past 7 games

The past 7 games the Rampage went 3-3-0-1. The Rampage go on the road for 16 games. Mostly it is a month long road trip due to the rodeo. I hope the guys can get it together while on the road. We need to start winning more games.

Bill Thomas is the Rampage's guy for the All-Star events. There will be pics of him later on.

Last 10 games

The last ten games have been okay for the Rampage. The record for those games is 4-5 with 1 postponed game against Omaha. That game got rescheduled for April 10th. We had a 4 game winning streak from December 29th to January 6th.

Rampage lost tonight against Houston with LeNeveu in net. I think other teams like scoring on him when he is laying down in the crease.

Past 5 games...

The past 5 games have not been so good for the Rampage. The have gone 2-3, they played Milwaukee twice, Manitoba twice and Houston once during that time.

Lenny went 1-2 and Josh was 1-1 during this time. There is just not much to talk about with this team right now.

Last 5 games

We got David LeNeveu back and Phoenix traded Tyson Nash. Enver Lisin got suspened by the Coyotes for not coming here. He went back to Russia to play, guess he did not like being sent down. The last 5 games the Rampage went 1-4. The only win was against Omaha on the 30th of November. There is a good thing that happened for the month of November, the team was .500 for the month. Now if only our record for the season could be that and above.

The next two games will be against Milwaukee on December 7 & 9. Those two games should be interesting. We keep switching places with them in the standings, but they are ahead of us for right now.

games

Since I last posted the Ramape have won 3 games and lost 3. The guys are playing better this month than last month. The guys play Houston on Friday in Houston, and then Grand Rapids comes into town on Saturday.

Matt Jones and Don MacLean are both back from Phoenix. The Rampage are doing better than the Coyotes at the moment which is kind of good in a way. Our goalie Josh Tordjman is just awesome to watch play. He is the best player out there for us right now.

The weekend

The Rampage went 1-1 over the weekend. They beat Grand Rapids but lost to Iowa. The Grand Rapids game was home opener, nothing big was done for the home opener...even though they should have done something for it being our 5th season in the AHL. Both scores of the game were 5-4.
In the Iowa game the Rampage battled back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2nd period. Only to end up losing in the 3rd. I guess that is good in a way. We know they can battle back from that kind of lead. I am glad that hockey season is back in full swing. It has been a long summer with out hockey. Most hockey fans will say it is a long summer. The hockey fans that have been around hockey for a while that is.
Saturday I got to see my friend Mike Green play for Iowa. He use to play for the Rampage until he got traded to the Rangers and then went to play over in Europe. While he was playing in a league over the summer here he got signed by Dallas. I think that is great that a team was willing to sign him. He played well against us. Mike is a good player, and deserves being in the AHL again. Hopefully Dallas will call him up during the season.
That is Mike there in the Iowa jersey. The picture was taken when they were doing warm ups. We play them 4 more times I believe. Well I will let all of you go....lol

Preseason games against Houston

The Rampage split for the preseason series for the first time in Rampage history. This can only mean good things to come hopefully. We are faster and can score, more than last season. Randall Gelech has lead the preseason with the most points. He had 4 points in two games, which is good to know.

The Coyotes have sent down more players:

Matthew Spiller
Travis Roche
David LeNeveu
Enver Lisin
Keith Yandle
Bill Thomas
Matt Jones

Those players did not play in the game with the Rampage Sunday.

Players sent down

The Coyotes have sent down 13 players so far this week.

  1. Randall Gelech
  2. Jakub Koreis
  3. Bryan Helmer
  4. Logan Stephenson
  5. Don MacLean
  6. Joe Callahan
  7. Yanick Lehoux
  8. Olivier Latendresse
  9. Daneil Winnik
  10. Pascal Rheaume
  11. Philippe Sauve
  12. Josh Tordjman
  13. Jeff Taffe

We look good for right now. That can all change when the Rampage start there season. There is one that is in camp that is not listed that I know about. His name is Ryan Flinn.

Practice and Exhibition Game

Practice was a good one. The guys practiced hard, harder than what I saw with the Rampage last season which is sad.

There you can see Owen Nolan watching what is going on, waiting for his turn. He even played later that day in a preseason game against Dallas. Most of the guys that were there practicing will most likely be here with the Rampage this season. The Coyotes lost that game in Dallas.

Now let's get to the exhibition game. It was basically a scrimmage. The Rampage won the scrimmage. On the Rampage team we had

Shane Doan
Jeremy Roenick
Georges Laraque

So I guess you can say we had the advantage. We were losing 3-0 when then they put in LeNeveu. He gave up all of the goals we scored on him. Kind of sad to know that he does that a lot. In the picture you have Roenick being checked by Matthew Spiller. Matthew was on our team last season.

First Coyotes practice

The man himself Wayne Gretzky was there. It was cool to see him at work. The guys worked hard today, which is always good. Wayne did sign some autographs for season ticket holders. I had two cards signed by him. That is always awesome to have.

In an interview, he said that he is happy that the Coyotes are affiliated with the Spurs. He also said that the Rampage will be better this season. I hope he is correct on that. We need to be better, this is our last season on our contract. It would be good to know if we will extend our contract with them, but that is not going to happen until sometime after the season. So Im not going to worry about that now. Still too early to even think about.

Curtis "Cujo" Joseph was in net practicing with the first group of guys. There he is talking to Grant Fuhr. It was interesting to see some of the big names in SA. I bet they never thought they would end up in SA one day. I know a lot of guys would think they would never go to Texas, well atleast the vets would most likely have thought that a few years ago.

After they had their practice they had to go up to meet some of the season ticket holders. The guys were nice enough to give autographs and take pictures with fans. Most of the guys sat together but what else is new. The players will always group together and not really spread out.

The guys have practice in the morning and then after that half the guys will be traveling to Dallas to play the Stars there. Should be interesting to see who wins that game. I will update after practice sometime. Later all!

Coyotes come tomorrow

Coyotes will be traveling to SA tomorrow( Thursday). Should be fun to be going to the AT&T Center again. Haven't been there since the last game of the season. I will post pictures Friday of both practices.

Coyotes come this week

This week is when the Coyotes come to town. I can't wait to see Gretzky. Saturday should be fun, as it will be a hockey game. Will let you all know what happens.

New Jerseys

Here are what the new jerseys look like. Hope some of you out there like them. I think they are plan and really do look like Buffalo's jerseys.
